Shake! is a project that brings together young people, artists & campaigners to develop creative responses to social injustice.


SHAKE! 
  • is the realisation of Art as a tool for change and a celebration of youth voices
  •  
  • defines, manifests and proves Art as creative soul expression, using images, language, texture and sounds 
  •  
  • unites the energy of artistic generations to creatively campaign on issues of race, power, environment and injustice 
  •  
  •  produces high quality artwork on urgent & global issues using the immediacy of music, poetry, visuals and film



Inspired by the memories of Nigerian Writer and Activist, Ken Saro-Wiwa, and in celebration of the life of Stephen Lawrence Shake! 2010 participants engaged in dynamic workshops (Poetry writing & performance, Film Making, DJ artwork) & follow-up mentoring to pursue creative campaigning & events production.


The trailer above was made in one day of intensive training when the Shake! young film makers came together to recap on their skills after some reflection time.
